My approach

I work in an integrative manner, meaning that I draw on a number of therapeutic approaches based on the individual needs of the client. I have experience working with clients on a short and long term basis, as well as offering SST (Single Session Therapy).

I am open to working with most issues and work in-person as well as online (video) and telephone.

Types of therapy

Hover the cursor over the therapy type for a brief explanation

  • Dialectical behaviour (DBT)

  • Humanistic

  • Integrative

  • Person-centred

  • Relational

  • Single session (SST)

  • Transactional analysis

DBT is a type of talking therapy, based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). It is specially adapted for people who feel emotions very intensely.

A humanistic approach focuses on the individual as a whole. It encourages people to think about their feelings and take responsibility for their thoughts and actions.

Transactional analysis is a comprehensive approach which incorporates aspects of humanistic, cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic therapy.

A form of solution-focused counselling for individuals that lasts a single session.

Relational therapy is a therapeutic approach based on the idea that mutually satisfying relationships with others are necessary for one’s emotional well-being.

Person-centred therapy is a humanistic approach, exploring the ways individuals perceive themselves consciously, rather than how a counsellor can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas.

Integrative counselling looks at the whole person, taking into account your mental, physical and emotional needs, using techniques and tools from different modalities to tailor an individual approach for you.
